Burger King Social Sign In

The sign in and sign up experience serves as the gatekeeper to ordering food on the Burger King app. To ensure a seamless journey for our customers, I recognized the need to optimize this crucial action.

Product Design ✦ User Research

Problem

Our original sign up and sign in process was disruptive. It lived on a separate page, requiring users to navigate away from their current task. Moreover, users could only sign in using their email, which added an unnecessary layer of complexity and inconvenience.

Solution

To address these issues, I implemented social sign-in options, allowing users to sign up or sign in using Google, Facebook, Apple, or their existing email. Additionally, I transformed the sign in process into a drawer that slides up from the bottom, minimizing disruption and keeping the user engaged with the ordering flow.

Why?

Through extensive user research, I discovered that our customers overwhelmingly preferred the convenience of using social media for signing up and signing in. This preference informed my decision to integrate multiple social sign in options, ultimately enhancing the user experience by making the process faster and more intuitive.
